i do have a question though does the rc8t need rear alum hubs for bearing life ?
no, just bling. losi had a rear bearing issue solved with aluminum rear hubs. the ae hubs have a 3rd hole though for even shorter camber link in the back.

It happened right off a jump, truly had a long and hard tumble, which bent the right rear outer hinge pin and the front left caster block.
I do think it broke b/c the upper caber link was tightened too much.

Got a few questions. Have a year old RC8T CE i believe
Im about to tear down my truck and clean it really good.
Anything that should be replaced or rebuilt besides obviously worn/damaged items?
Anyone running an aftermarket 4 shoe clutch? My stocker needs to be replaced.

How often do diffs need to be taken apart and cleaned/rebuilt?

What about bearings? Replace only when bad? Im not talking about clutch bearings. I replace those every 2 race weekends.

Thats it for now. Im sure ill have more questions..

yea, thats good i dint have "2.0 t" just a "1.0 t" but my inner smaller bearings in my hub kept on going bad so really the 1.0 t needs alum hubs no matter what the other losi guys say they both need them.

have you used the extra hole on the rc8t rear hub or just kept it stock .

whats, funny is on my 1.0 t i just used the hole on the rear hub to get it to rotate the most but i dint mess with the chamber link on the rear shock tower just followed a losi team drivers setup.

oh, dam lol yea overtighting something on the supension could cause that to happen or at my track trying to clear a big triple jump and crashing lol.

Sounds like you got it under control, replace anything worn or damaged.
I've been tossing around the idea of a four shoe clutch but have been happy with Answer Racings shoes and the stock flywheel so I haven't changed. Change bearings as needed. I personally do my diffs if not every weeked at least every other. Shocks every other or so.

Also, check out the Team Associated 1/8 scale buggy thread for the videos posted by Brandon Melton a couple pages back. They can apply to the truggy as well. Very helpful tips in there I would recommend checking it out. Helps the buggy/truggy a lot.

Anyone know the advantages of a 4 shoe clutch over a 3 shoe?

ive, used a 4 shoe on my "losi eights" it just gives you more grab and more tuning opinions the thing ive noticed is if you use to stiff of clutch springs on a 4 shoe it will really kick in hard it can catch you off guard sometimes.

i, hear the stock "3 shoe" on the "rc8t" is fine the one guy on here said the ones that answer makes which are 3 shoe are better and have the washers insend of that big shim that ive noticed.

i do have to say cleaning up and deburring a 4 shoe alum clutch is more work than a 3 shoe if you ask me.

The center CVA might, but also the rings help hold them in.

If your talking the drive axles, then the bearings hold them in.

I'm about to tear mine down. I would definetly replace all the bearing since you have it apart. It would suck if you don't and a diff bearing goes while racing. I'm going to clean out the diffs and inspect and refill. The same thing with the shocks. Then like you said replace any worn out part or cracked parts.
