exergen gun problems?
 

So I was tuning my motor the other day for practice before racing and the engine was running good. Nice smoke and running good.

Pull the car and check temp with my exergen. Thing says 314?

Tuned a little fatter. Motor now running 260, won't even get out of its own way...

Grabbed three other temp guns, they all end up between 170 and 200 so I put my exergen away and retuned.

My gun is way different from two other identicals. Any options for adjustment or do I need to send it in or call Exergen. I don't have a slip because I bought it used in like new condition.

I bought one on fleabay that failed half way into the season. I sent it in for repair and they sent me a new one no questions asked. Cant say for sure you will have the same results but it's worth a phone call.

Me to bought one used and the temps were way off. Called exergen got a RMA# sent it and had it back in two weeks. Great people to deal with.

Clean the lens, if it's dirty you'll get a false reading. Also read this http://www.exergen.com/industrl/irtc...chnote_075.htm
