a OCM is very different to a MBX5 certainly the evo version
in fact, only the lower front arms look alike..
as do all existing and to come ball suspension fronts by design..
you can mount the upper arms, but then the geometry is all different
and than the ocm isn't driving as good anymore..
Also the toeplate system is more like xray cars

many rods and the diff outdrives are much bigger, so you can't mount the mugen ones
and there is the toeplates with inserts that makes it , the most tunable buggy ever

it is really a buggy on it's own, well designed and surely a beautiful one..
pity the designers were not as good salesmen
Personnally I think the OCM is nicer and in fact as good as the mugen.....

Copy of mbx 5 with some cosmetic changes.Just like castor buggy you can put a lot of mbx 5 parts on that buggy.

Interesting... So you mean you've measured the geometry and weight balance etc. of Mugen Caster and OCM and say they are identical ?

There is a lot of stuff that is changeable between the major brands so with your brilliant logic it means that all (Xray, LOSI, Kyosho, Mugen, put what ever brand here) is a copy of something else with cosmetic changes. So can you define which then is the "original" buggy

Your wrong. the only thing that really fits is the upper and lower arms and ackerman plate. The bulkheads are entirely different and the mounting holes for the bulkhead to the chassis are ALOT farther apart therefor you cannot even use Mugen ones at all. The complete radio tray, center diff mount brake linkages, shock geometery, the complete hingepin capturing system is different. You cannot interchange differential gears, none of that, a TON of stuff is different. Just because it is pillow ball does not mean it is a copy of the Mugen.

The caster buggy has some of the same differences except the bulkheads do fit and diffs can be used but are different ratio's and the Caster is ALOT lighter than the MBX5R

Look its a copy man.All the geometry is the same.Just cause some holes dont line up dont mean squat.Any one who has seen them side by side can see.I have a nice mbx5r i will sell you if you want the real thing.

I gotta go with Vnmsgt on this one. I owned both at the same time and they may look very similar but the parts he mentioned are not interchangeable.

ok I actually have had all 3 at the same time and tried swapping parts with my own hands is why I said what I did. So besides the looks which everyone goes by I KNOW what will fit and what will not. So say what you want. Go to the X-ray thread and call them all "Losi 808" Drivers and while your at it go to the Odonnels thread and call them "Kyosho Z01-B" drivers too.
