Which motor to get?

Alright guys here is the rundown on my situation, my brother is getting into racing and needs a motor. The problem is I don't want him to go out and buy a $300 motor to only race casually. So I have narrowed my choices down for him between a RB S3, NovaRossi 21BF, and a OS VG. Also to note, I am leaning towards the RB, just because of how awesome my WS7-II motor is. Any and all opinions will be appreciated. Thanks
Marcus

I haven't tried the RB or the OS engines but I have raced with the Novarossi 2001 bf. Very good budget engine at around $200 I think. It will keep up with the higher end engines just a little less power on the bottom. But its enough power for the buggy. I think its pretty good value for your money

Have you considered the Ninja B01A? (www.ninja-engine.com) It's a screamer for a very good price (< $300)
