Default Video from Gulf Coast Raceway Tx

Finally made it down to Porter Tx which is just north of Houston. Gulf Coast Raceway is there and man what a nice facility. There is a world class on-road and the newly created off-road tracks. Fully stocked hobby shop, snack bar you name it and its there. The off-road track is under a large roof open on 3 sides. Large indoor pit area and plenty of pit space around the outside as well. The 2nd floor of the off-road side isn't finished yet but I went up to check out the view from the air conditioned balcony. Pretty cool I bet those seats will be taken up quickly for a big race. I shot 6 hours of tape and I have to do some maintenance on my disks to get that much on the computer so I cut some quick clips out and make a short teaser video of the track.

I'll be putting out some more during the week as I wade through all this tape. If you are ever down Houston way be sure and check out the tracks. They are worth the visit.

Default Not sure

There used to be two off-road tracks within a mile of each other where this track is in Porter. One of them is closed now. I'm not sure about other tracks in Houston as I live west of Austin and only get down there once in awhile. Best bet is to go to the 2coolfishing.com forum and post in the r/c section. The track's website is http://www.mikes-hobbyshop.com/OffRoadTrack.html They have a killer on-road track as well but I think its being resealed and covered right now.

Default Don't you hate it when your disks are full

Oh man I hate backing up a disk. Takes forever and I always end up nuking something I didn't want too But I have 6 hours of tape from Gulf Coast and only an hour worth of disk left before I cleaned it up. Now I'll be changing tapes once an hour until its all into the computer. Then I can get started. Some excellent shots on the video I've seen so far. Now that I have my video equipment bought its time to upgrade the old computer. SATA drives and dualcore for sure. Wish Avid would run on AMD hardware. It would be a lot cheaper to get it put together. Oh well everything thats fun costs money Check back in a day or so I'll have some more video from this awesome facility posted up.
