Myself and Nitrohouse put our Hyper ST's on the podium this weekend as well as Chuck Millar with the win. We had 3 ST's on the stand this weekend at the Novarossi USA memorial at Revelation raceway. Myself and Nitrohouse took 3rd and of course Chuck took 1st. Congrats to team Hobao.

Do these 16mm shocks make that much of a difference? I see a lot of people upgrading to them...

I mean is it a difference like the Savage stock shocks vs the LST shock mod? Or is it the threaded shock bodies that's the benefit?

Speaking of Losi Shocks... has anyone tried to put the 8ight-T shocks on or any other type of shocks?

I love my stock shocks. Well, not really stock anymore. The pistons have been modified and wow what a difference it has made. Save the $120 and just mod the pistons on the stock shocks. Drill 2 holes at 1.3mm and 2 at 1.35mm and it's like a caddy on dirt. Very smooth.

Is that 4 holes in each piston? Or are the 1.3's for the front and the 1.35's for the rear ??

Cheers, kal

I don't have metric drill bits so I did the following... NOT TESTED

Front,
Drill 2 (of the existing 4) 1/16" holes with 40 wt oil and grey springs with #6 spacer
Mounted: Upper outer hole and Lower 2nd hole from the outside.

Rear
Drill 2 (of the existing 4) 5/64" holes with 50 wt oil and grey springs with #6 spacer
Mounted: Upper 2nd hole from the inside and Lower outer most hole

I put the spacers on simply because a 12" drop cause the truck to smack the ground easily... once tested I will adjust as needed.

Just curious as to what camber (F & R) ya'll are running... I know I am running too much especially since I just changed my shock setup... -3.5 Fr & -6 rear...

That was the place to go to get the shock piston set up. Truck drives like it's on air. As for Camber, I just eyeball it. as long as my tires are straight as it turns I'm good. Has worked for me so far. Plus I don't feel like spenind $150 on a camber gauge.

I still run the springs on my linkages but I don't run the stock brake pads either. I use the fiber disks. Two in the front and one in the rear. Check out Nitrohouse.com, go to the Hyper ST page and look at the tech tips. You'll find some good info there.
