The drama with my front diff wasn't broken parts but just a bit of grit that had gotten into the shaft of the outdrive on one side and was binding that up. I cleaned it up with some wet and dry sandpaper, added a little black grease and it seems ok now. And here is a pic of how my rear links and shock tower look. |

BM: Do you mean the camber link modification or the placement of the camber link on the shock tower? To be honest, I've only tried one hole. My intention was to run the camber link as flat as possible when my normal ride height was set. I guess you could move the inside of the camber link up or down for role center adjustments. This is of course, for another day :)
Re shocks: It really depends on the track you race on. If its smooth and remains smooth (e.g. no ruts or holes) then you'll find the standard shocks should work OK. If however, your track is rough and cuts up real bad then the new K-Factory shocks are a must. The extra 20+mm of travel helps with the bumps nicely. The other advantage is "normal" size springs now fit the car so you have a much larger selection of after-market springs to choose from. e.g. Hong-Nor and Xray Z00M: The camber link mod is actually the work of Ari Bakla. Lycan, Yes, all the modifications you have tried really please. Just so as when I get the car I'm armed with what I need to do. I'll get the K Factory shocks then.......... anything else? (modification and 'advised to get' parts? What springs do you think I should arm myself with for a start? The tracks I'm going to start off going to are, small to medium, one is slightly loose, small but lots of jumps and sharp turns, quite rough. The other, about the same size track, smoother and harder surface, slightly bigger yups and jumps and looks faster. Thanks for your help ! British Menace |

well andrew,
your new turbo certainly handles better than the M1B did looked really good at the nats. and it's finishing more races too:lol: cu on the 20th Adrian What u doing sneaking around here :D Yep, the Turbo is getting better and better but talk about a stressful experience. Could almost be at a point where people might take it seriously? Unfortunately its all too little too late as I think our local importer might be more than happy to see the back of them. Wont see me on the 20th unfortunately. Got more important things to do like onroad gas :D hehehehe CYA mate Andrew |

Everything I've modded on the car has worked a treat. I'd would not undo one thing as I know how bad the car was and how good it is now. Do them all, you wont reget it :D For the chassis brace, you can use K-Factory's new rear chassis brace rather than HongNor parts. Does the same thing. Other than that... you just need to make up some camber links and plug in the drill/dremel :) Re shocks & setup - too be honest I'm no offroad junkie. Onroad is my thing so for me to offer some advise on what would work at your track wounldnt be based on experience so I'm not going to. Last thing I want to do is offer you bad advise. All I can suggest is to try my setup posted earlier and go from there. Its got to be a good starting point. Sorry! :) I guess its one of the frustrations of being a solo M1 driver in the field :( I havent run the new shocks with anything but HongNor red springs. They worked OK but arent anywhere near perfect for my track. (its what I could find with 2 days before the meeting started :) ) Since this, I've moved to Xray Dark Blue springs but are untested. I'll be testing them in a few weeks time. Once I've run them, I'll next try changing the pistons from two 1.5 holes to: Front - 2x 1.5 + 2x 1.1 with 60wt oil Rear - 2x 1.5 + 1x 1.3 with 60wt oil I dont like the TM springs and wont be running them again. Hope this helps. If you need more detail let me know. Andrew |

British Menace, ygpm are you ignoring me.
Just on the M1 , Lycan and Tmizzle have done the hard yards with this buggy they should make you guys life time TM payed members. I'm wondering how much longer they can hold on with this product as it seems not many people are selling it. I've just Modded mine original M1 (as I had two still in not bad nick) with a couple of the popular mods just waiting for the start of the season to give it a go. Ill take some pictures when I've finally got it all together. Cheers all |

Also, can anyone how much i could to pay for a full set of K-factory shocks and towers in Australia? |
What up guys!
Just to put this out there... I won my first 3 races with the Turbo in stock form. No mods what so ever, but i eventually did add weight to the rear. I do have the new KFactory towers and shocks on the way so i can let you know how much better they make the car. I think the shocks were the 1 thing that needed some help. I went with the standard ones and not the low pro and I think the car is going to be awesome. Actually with the Turbo i have been running 3000 in the rear diff but 10K will definatly lock in the rear but i felt overall it made the car a little slower so i added the weight and it seemed fine. Longer shocks should mean even a more hooked up rear end since there will be more weight transfer coming from the front. I will get you guys some vid and pics soon! |

Thats good to hear TMizzle, And in stock form too. I'm going to be getting the Turbo in a couple of weeks, (Tax return cash....lol) So I was putting it out there about the hop-ups and mods needed to be done. Just want to be armed ready with what to do and whats working on the car. I will also be going with either the 5 or 7 port GO Tech motor and pipe to power this thing ;-) For now, I think I will get the K Factory shocks and F & R K Factory shock towers but what about springs? No one seams to like the TM springs?? What are you using TMizzle on your Turbo? Thanks for your help on here. And always good to see your vids too !! British Menace |
im using the TM springs as well but i kinda feel the same way... that maybe other springs could be better... so when my new shocks get here im going to try some different springs this time starting with either Mugen Gray or Jammin Red
