I think its great they are helping you out but I would never use those filters again. I had 3 of them a while back and one of them allowed dirt into an engine so I sold them all. I was using the proline low profile filters which work well but the pre-filter was sliding off. Recently I purchased an Xray XB8EC and it comes with a really nice filter housing that I am using with the powersave filters from amainhobbies. They fit great and its a trouble free set-up.
Ya the Xray style round filter housing works best, the Losi ones also not to bad. Then you can ad this simple cheap cover product to that, or any filter and save your race motor. These things hold the edges of the pre-filter tight to the housing and deflect dirt, so your filter will never cake.

Here is the link,... they also now sell high flow racing versions too..

Hey all, is sad to see i am not the only one, my motorsaver cost me a 2 litre old Rossi Cobra, oiled the pre filter and the filter foam and it still sucked in dirt, i use Losi filters now and have never had a problem.
Cheers

I've been using motor savers air filters for years. To me they are the best
air filters on the market. They are very light weight compared to others, you
can adjust the rate of filtration (by using the pre-filter) and the mech screen
helps prevents the filter from clogging(the mech screen shakes dirt off keeping the foam filter clean). On the X-ray type filter once the pre-filter is
clogged it starts to greatly restrict your engine's breathing. I use one motor
savers filter w/o pre-filter for the 5 min heat races and another one with pre-
filter for the 30 min main. You should always rub extra oil on the base and pay
close attention to how the foam the sits in the screen. JE I think Motor
Savers was right, because in your pictures your filter is not really dirty only
the inside of your elbow.

Motor savers sucked dirt 10 years ago, and they still do today.
