Hey guys I'm a proud new owner of a TR Arena FRE I've been reading here and getting some great info I have yet to build the kit I've been gathering all the hop ups and parts to complete some of the mods main one's being the diff conversion and servo saver using crt stuff. I was wondering how many of you run the stock metal sheilded bearings that are included in the kit I was thinking of putting Avid revolution bearings through out the whole truck any info is appreciated

I cleaned the stockers in a sonic jewlery cleaner.. from harbor frieght.. then blew them out.. and a few drops of 3 in one oil later.. have run the truck for about 2months no failure.. as of yet.. On bearing in the rear carier has some play.. but...not bad for almost 2 gallons of run time.. One complete Tear down per gallon.. bearings allways cleaned and lubed.. during tear downs..

I did order a set of revs.. to put in.. I just figured I wouldl make use of the stockers.. plus I had to get used to the truck....

I had to replace my front bearings. I mangled them as I was replacing my spindles. They were really pressed in there tight. I did replace them with the revolutions.

I've always used the CEN included bearings, they are good stuff, I still have most of the original bearings in my buggy from last year still, they may not be as free as ceramic ones, but they last a long time and are still pretty free, and they dont cost a fortune if you do have to replace them

Anyone know why they went to the SH .28 motors?

maybe because of all the problems people were having with the one way bearings? I doubt they will ever come out and say why thgouh, I'm sure its a number of factors,

I wonder if this will be a change across the board for there other vehicles. Going to SH motors instead.

Are SH motors any good?

A majority of the engines on RTR's are made by SH.

GS, XTM, Dynamite, Losi, these rtr kits all come with SH motors. Not to mention that SH makes engines for LRP. I SH is doing pretty well for themselves

Robert
I dont like to drift my truck so I want the rear to hold its line while the front pulls it around.. I drove 1/10 for to many years and when I switched to buggy I tried to drive it like a rally car.. But it just didnt work for me..
I found my lap times where way higher when I had to hit the brakes to get the rear to slide out..
