Any sugestions?
It will go away after a couple of runs. They have all done that.

Same thing with my race roller I just got. It appears that dif housing was slightly molded out of spec. When put together, the ring/pinion gear mesh is to tight. All I did was took a piece of blue shrink wrap, split it down the middle and placed it in the left side front half of the receiving groove. This shims it slightly enough to pull the ring gear away from the pinion. It works fine. I will probably buy new dif cases prior to my next oil change.

Be sure the inner pinion bearing is pressed all the way into the diff case. If you shim it out and the bearing is not set all the way in and you run it for awhile the bearing may set it's self and you will have a very sloppy mesh.

Can any one else verify this? I would hate to munch brand new diff, only to shell out another $40 for a R&P gears...

I have never seen a 1/8 buggy diff that didn't have room for adjustment w/ shimms

It should go away after 2 to 4 tanks. Are you greasing the ring and pinoin gear teeth? Do you have too much end play for the pinoin shaft thru the bearings in the case? Should have very little to no end play. The bearing plastic inserts could be shaved down some where they contact the flange part of the diff bearings if there is excessive plastic flashing.

I've been looking all over for the Eck Tec ones and they are out of stock. Anyone want to do the mod to a couple and sell them?

Just do the mod yourself. I spelled it out awhile ago. It's super easy.
