from what i gather its like onroad racing where the front wheels are geared taller than the rear and therefore have more drive, the way i guess you would do it with the losi 8 would be to use rear diff gears out of the 8t in the rear of the 8. but the onroad dont have a center diff so with the 8 dont know how much difference it would make.

As Scuba Steve has pointed out, that is used in onroad, not offroad. Its also used to somewhat compensate for the tire wear and how the rollout changes for front and rear.

i'm sure the info i'm looking for is located somewhere in this million post but what are some servo combos being used in the eights. I have a jr 9000s that has only been run once, so could this be useful. I doesn't matter i just want what is needed.

Hey Rock, the JR's will work great. I use the ACE servos. And if each person on this thread were to answer you would have each and every manufacturer used. So just use good servos and you won't have a problem. Set the EPA's correctly and make sure the carb slide is moving straight in and out. Set up your brakes so that the servos aren't maxed out while you're on the brakes and you won't have problems.

The 9000S you have will be great for steering, but for most it's too fast. If your radio TX supports it, it may be useful to slow down the servo speed.

I use the 9000 for steering and I don't water it down, I like the speed it has on tap but for most it is probably a tad too fast.

Best way to see is IF you are already a consistent driver, to test your lap times back to back with full servo speed and a slightly slower servo speed.
