I killed one servo already. Dont want to do it again !!!!

I'm trying to make sure the throttle linkage on my 8ight is as straight as possible. Doing so would mean my adjusting (turning) the ball on my carb clockwise about 1/4 turn. How would I go about doing this???? I see a hole on the opposite side of the ball, but it looks more like a rivot than a hex screw. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It should be a set screw. You should be able to rotate it any way you need.

What make of motor is it? Can you post a close up picture(s)? By looking at it (all the linkage servo, carb, etc. etc.) we can help you with all the adjustments..

It is the losi 8ight RTR with the 427. All stock setup. I can snap a shot and show you guys. The linkage is definitely not straight.

Give me a few mins to get pic up. .

it definitely has a set screw, pretty small metric, i just dont remember the size, 1.5mm i think. loosen it place it where you want it and tighten it back down, just make sure it hasnt slipped out away from the slide before you tighten it.

Ok, here is a pic of my setup. Check attachment. Hard to get in there to take a good shot.

Since I've raised the servo, the linkage is angled up towards the servo now. Should I try to move the entire carb?? Or should I just try to move the end with the ball on it.

If I do have to move the end with the ball on it, i have no clue how to do it. There is no alan wrench/hex screw. It almost looks like one but is completely smooth (rounded out) and I've never touched it. Brand new car.

Those Mach engines are using a set screw. It is 1.5mm and you need to rotate it. Move the ball to 8:30 position and you should be good. You are right to want that rod to be level. The carbs will bind if they are pulled across their natural path. To run my OS RG I had to shafe the rear of the diff mount top plate to accomidate the much larger carb boot. This allowed me to get it much straighter.
I race this thing at least 2 times a week and have never lost a servo.
Take great care to make sure the rods are straight and get rid of that heavy throttle spring.

I was using standard/american wrenches. Off to go and get a metric 1.5mm . Right now it is around the 7 o'clock position. I'll go for the 8:30 position. Thanks for everyone's help!! If anyone has anything else, please let me know. I'm new to RC as im sure you can tell. Thank you !

So far, we have a full gallon and two nights of practice on the 359 and it's still kicking. I put a 757 (high speed digital) in it for steering and it works really well, but it kinda sucks the battery down fast.

The good news is that our track has Fusion 1500 hump packs for $9.99, so who cares?

I'll get something posted up tonight on how I setup my servo's and linkage. Beat my car hard now for 4 hours on the track and everything is still good. Don't give up on the car, it ROCKS!!

Here is a better pic of my linkage. Still learning my new camera. The linkage came slightly angled from the factory. It is angled more now that I put the rubber grommets in. It has never been in line.

No wonder my throttle servo failed !!
