Default Pit communication

I know this is not the right forum to ask for make, model for two way radio communication between driver and pit.

For the first time there was so much noise we needed to really yell to hear each other.

I know you guys race so that is why I decided to ask you directly.

Thanks in advance

For some dumb ass reason 2 way communication is illegal in sanction (ROAR) races. Donny and I will be using bluetooth headsets with our cell phones next time we have to pit for each other at a club race. We'll at least try them and see how well they work. I'm a little concerned with the background noise interfering. I've also seen people tie a string to the drivers shoe and the pit man pulls it when it's time to pit. If you can reach the bottom of the drivers stand from the pits, you could try tapping his foot.

I have the Motorola Talkabout 2-way radios with Iasus throat mikes (no background noise), in-ear monitors and an external push-to-talk switch that the driver can attach to his radio with velcro for sale. It works great if you don't have an 19" neck like me. PM me if interested.

I had no idea that it was illegal in ROAR events, but this happened at a club race.

ROAR seems to have a lot of stupid rules that prevent the hobby from growing into a professional sport.

From whatI have heard with 2 way radios, the driver needs to be able to just talk to comminicate, but the pit needs a push to talk button other wise the driver just gets crazy background noise all the time with people comming into pit.

Air8,
I used to run my PT in the reciever box of my Hyper 7. Worked fine in there, can't see why it wouldn't work in the 8ight. I just have mine in the stock location on the buggy now.

Cool. I'm trying mine on top of the battery next time we race. I'll see what happens. I have cleaned up the RX box very well now. Wish me luck. LOL

I trained mine to never call on race day.

Turn the phone on to vibrate and just ignore the call waiting.
