Can anyone tell me the exact differences between the RTR verision of the 8ight and the Competition Version, other than the shock towers and chassis.

If its's like the 8 RTR, Shock tower, hinge pin plates, chassis, clutch shoes, drive hexes and wheel nuts, shock shafts, shock springs, shock pistons, steering hinge pins, engine mounts, and "Losi" bubble nameplate. There might be more too. On my buggy this was the difference. Add it up. It's big.

This has been answered several times, so please try searching in the future.

off the top of my head though, the additional changes are:

RTR diffs are grease packed, not oil
RTR clutch is two shoe plastic, not 4 shoe plastic/aluminum
RTR shock caps are plastic, not anodized aluminum

hey hey,

not specifically a losi question, but what kind of difference do you guys notice with gear ratios and run time? i run on a medium size track, and have tried running a 13 tooth bell (boss b21off motor)- tons more punch, nicer on clutch wear, etc, but i've noticed that fuel consumption has gone way up. i know that it depends on tracks, motors, tune, etc. but has anybody else noticed such a drastic difference?

Yes, I have noticed a run time difference with 13 to 14 tooth clutch bells. Less milage with a 13. I like driving a 14t more also. Fits my driving style.

My fuel consumption stayed about the same with the 13t. The car accelerates so easily that I don't use as much throttle off the turns.

That is true. i thought they were a different color though. I haven't looked too hard. Mine started as a RTR. I wish I would have bought the kit.

Getting mine setup for starter box this week. Break-in the new motor on Wednesday. Do a little fine tunin' and practice on Thursday, and head out on Friday. I've got a busy week. Wish I could quit working 12 hr. days at work.

Freefall, we'll find you. It'll be nice to meet some racers from other places. Have you decide on your road trip with Trebor?
We'll try to pit by you guys. I gotta stay near Indaway cause he's so good. Kinda like the dad I never had. lol. Great guy too. I'm excitecd to get down there.
