My new body actually turned out ok. I was hoping for awesome though. It is like my 5th RC body to paint. Oh well. I'm no artist.

I'll try to find you in the crowd. I heard there is gonna be a lot of racers. This will be my first BIG race to attend. I'm helping the good drivers from my area. I think there will be about six of us there. So, I look forward to it.

When the stock plastic bearing insert's wear, the ring and pinion has play and get's misaligned, causing rear diff failure. Because of today's monster torque and super fast .21's, and heavy blipper finger's. The plastic insert's wear fast. Just take out the rear shaft's and wiggle the drive cup's while it's in the housing. If there is play from the housing, replace the insert's.

I'll be hanging with the guy who drives the WWII paint sheme and "attack sharks mouth" on page 111. I see that you actually liked it too. I had that vision in my head when he showed up at our track. I'm glad his buddy painted it first, he's awesome at it. My interpretation would not have come out 1/10th that good. See ya there.

learning how to paint well has paid off and saved me alot of money. But I got burned out painting for other people, so now I paint on a limited basis. I've got better things to do with my time. It's easy if you do a few simple tasks

1. think about your design and draw it on the body

2. Use liquid mask

3. learn how to cut straight " not crooked, " lines

4. learn to lay down darker colors first

5. master the art of shadowing

6. use materials from everyday life to create cool effects , Checkered Cabinet liners make great carbon fiber effects

Ok back to a relivant topic

Has anyone had problems with their ball links being super tight?
I was plagued last weekend throughout qualifying by traction rolling, turned out that my rear tie rods and ball ends were super tight and wouldn't let my suspension rebound properly.

Because of that I ended up "BQ", I fixed the problem and bumped up to the A, but I loosened my links too much, and one popped off half way through. I managed to get it back on and still finished 5th.

I'm going to buy some new ends tonight and replace all my old ones, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Lightbulb

I'm onto painting my second body atm. My first one came out terrible because I forgot to clean it before I started masking it and I tried to get all of the blue (my schemes main color) all down in one coat. So far, this second body has come out much better after learning to lightly use one coat and not try to get it all on at one time...a bit did bleed through the tape but there was little enough that I could chip off what I didn't want with an Xacto knife. Have yet to lay down the white cover coat yet. It's been a learning experience to say the least...

I used to have bodies painted for me by a guy at the local track, but he moved to NC from NY and nobody else was left to paint.

sorry if this post was long/boring/off-topic...

I watched my friend break one in last week. The motor idles so smooth! even in break in it was strong. No doubt it's fast but i wonder about longevity.

I just got a O.S. V-spec and was wondering about the head shimming. It comes with one shim installed and one extra, should I use the extra shim for 30%?
