Gearbox not engaging.
 

Hi All,

I am very new to this, I used to run nitro cars when I was a child and now I am the grown up I thought I'd buy me and my son one.

We went for HSP 1/8th Scale 4WD Off Road Nitro Monster Truck from Nitrotek.

We took it for a spin today off road at a local field, all was going well and then the car stop pulling away. The motor was still running and the pinion and fly wheel were still moving. I noticed a screw missing out of the Diff Gear Lock Block and it was loose.

I replaced the screw and started her up however problem still persists. When I pull the car back the flywheel moves, however when pushed forward it the diff spins but there is no movement from the flywheel. Am I assuming I've shredded the gear box or am I missing something obvious?

Any help / advice much appreciated.

Just an update, I took the gearbox apart. As suspected the plastic gears inside are stripped.

£38 later on a new one.

What was likely to have caused this? The loose Diff Gear Lock Bar allowing play in the flywheel?
