An fun project came up.
I'll start to make an carbon box for this 1/8 off road.
I have the idea already in my head so now I have to start to make it.
As light as possible it will be.

Carbon fiber blocks RF, and wont be lighter then plastic.

Run an external antenna.

In my opinion carbon is more high tech than plastic.
Will you show me your carbon box. I have hard time to belive carbon box will be heavier than the plastic one.

What needs to be high tech to a simple receiver box?
The only gain you will get is the looks, but no weight advantage and no stronger construction.
Then just get some carbonstickers.

So why aren't formula1 cars out of plastic then??
And I really think to own an car with the box out of carbon is much cooler then the plastic one.
Carbon stickers😂😂

No Mather where I put my carbon stuff so then the carbon pros is showing up.
How many of you have cut carbon or even laminated carbon.
I have few years on my back. Or let's say this way.
First rc car chassis was made 1985 and I work with carbon everyday many hours.
So yes, I want this box out of carbon because it's possible to be made and yes, it's much cooler than the original one...
And you guys who also have laminated carbon, you do know how difficult it's to make an box for this car..

No compare at all.....
The strength of these RC cars comes mainly from the aluminum chassis and is strengthen up by carbon top decks and chassis braces.

I have cut carbon fiber sheets and made a few parts out of carbon fiber. Sheets no problem laminating is a pain full mess. You do have a vacuum machine to get the bubbles out??? Sure looks cooler but no advantage. The stock box is just fine. Just wrap it and it will look cooler.

Everyone has to do what he wants and can be learnful. But if you expect something better in performance then forget it.

You are comparing a $150 million car to a $1 part

No, I compere plastic vs carbon.
But Ok. You guys win.
For me this is the last one on this topic.
Maybe you can see the final result elsewhere..
Cheers to every carbon expert.

honestly you do what you gotta do for yourself and not worry about others. I think it’s a cool idea but like others said it’s just not practical for the application at hand as the nylon parts will have more flexibility. I am however curious about your venture and hope you post updates on your progress.

I like the idea go for it man. I like the look of the real carbon fiber. Stickers come on man. If the guy can do it let’s see his work. If you made them for my buggy I’d buy them for sure.
