this is from Facebook. Sebtarta posted it in the old thread. I think it’s from Doug Fales?

How durable is the Serpent compared to Tekno or the Mbx8t?

My friends with Mugen and Tekno break way more than I do. The Tekno’s at my track are always breaking shock shafts and spring cup seats. I haven’t broken yet.

Yes, I bash both my electric and nitro serpent truggies after the races. Then prep them for the next race. Had to replace driveshaft pins from wearing down, and a pair of front arms from warping after 4-5 years. The area around the caster block started to bend upwards after so long. That’s fixed in the newer truggy, I hope! I just want easier access diffs like the SRX8.

Are those carbon shock towers standard or an optional upgrade? I can't imagine those holding up very long for primarily bashing purposes. I'm leaning toward getting the MBX8T but I'm intrigued by the Serpent.

On the old cobra from 2009, it's carbon. The SRX8 is carbon. The SRX8 Evo and Pro are aluminum. My SRX8e came with aluminum. I never had to replace a shock tower on my nitro truggy. I always carried spares but just sat in my box for years.

I'm hoping the new SRX8T comes with aluminum, but the spy shots we've seen are carbon. Doesn't matter what it comes with for me, only ever had good luck with the carbon parts.

I've owned both Serpent and Tekno buggies. Durability is about the same. I broke more arms with the Serpent, but I also crashed more, so I blame myself for that.

They're all REAL durable if you don't crash:P
