I had a problem once where the plastic center diff mount had wear in it which allowed the diff to move around. Replaced the center diff holder and it was cured. Also are you using the V2 plate that sits under the center diff housing to stop chassis flex in that area. The battery is a little tight but not an issue.

what plate are you running under the center diff
d817 came with plastic.
D817v2 comes with metal and you can use 2 screws to stiffen it up with the 2 screws in.
What battery are you using
protek 2000mah lipo fits good
dynamite 2000mah fits good
I just got a reedy 2700mah pack and it also fit in fine.
