Default Buggy & Truggy ??

So I bought both in the Losi 8ight RTR versions and looking for suggestions on upgrading the engine, header and pipes. Iím thinking to keep the budget under $300 for just the engine alone. Something that has good power and decent fuel mileage. Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks

I agree with the above comment. Do some research and see what you like. When I decided to jump into the nitro off road scene, my original thoughts and wants, ended up changing completely after reading for weeks. Iíve kearned a lot on my own and had the help of a member from here I became text buddies I guess you could say. But, I went Mugen buggy. And now having built a car, ran it a few times, Iím wanting more

I'm a Nova guy so what I have to to recommend is imho. For truggy I use the Rolling and for buggy I use the Mantra. For both I use the Nova buggy clutch. I do however use 4x aluminum shoes with a split combo of 1.10 & 1.0mm springs for truggy. For my buggy I run the Nova clutch as is.

What do you think of the Reds R5R for both B&T?

I like it both ways but the R5R is lacking on top end but in the truck it will get you there. Torque is crazy on low end but fazing out about 2 seconds

I bought the RTR because I’m not a every week racer. I figured I could upgrade certain things to make it a little more durable and competitive. My local track doesn’t have long straight aways so I’m the the Reds setup would seem to be a good start for my budget. Probably go with the 4 shoe Reds clutch setup as well.

Iím also a novarossi fan and was curious if they made the 34mm flywheel. I had originally searched for their clutch but couldnít find a 34 for some reason. Went with the Mugen 4 shoe(mbx7r is my buggy) with a mix of the springs it came with. 2 .8ís and 2 .9ís I believe. Just did 4 tanks on fresh motor/clutch yesterday and it seemed to be pretty decent. I am far from a seasoned racer though.

Since your a Novarossi guy, what is your opinion on the Novarossi P5XLT?? Have the chance pick one up for a good price, only has the break in done.

As you can see in my signature I also own the R5R so you are good with short straights flows, jumps out of corners etc..
