Default Kyosho MP9 TKi4 Readyset problem

Today at a club race (my first), the left front driveshaft popped out of the out drive (2x). When I took a closer look at home the pins on the driveshaft are very close to the edge of the out drive. It's as though it's too short for the car. The other three look fine. I was thinking of rebuilding that side to check measurements if something was off when originally built. Any other thoughts on this one?

Yes, this is a known issue not limited to just the readyset but the prokits as well. Most people change the outdrives/swingshafts to a longer one to fix the problem.

You can also try using the droop screw to limit the down travel of the arm. This might help as the outdrives move outwards more as the arm goes lower.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, it does. I'm looking online, I think I want the 91mm set for the tki4, right? Or do you suggest the 93mm.

Moat of us run the 93 if i remember correctly. Its one of those things that will never require fixing again once you get it right so i dont really remember what i have on. But i think its 93mm.

well...what I thought was the problem wasn't...I discovered the left knuckle arm was cracked when I was getting ready to replace the swingshaft. For the Readyset that is part IF275B. I ordered a replacement part for the kit TKi4, which is part IF419, and upon receiving it realized it's not a direct swap. The readyset knuckle uses smaller bearings, the kit larger. I don't see that a replacement part is carried with the readyset part number, any thoughts on what else I'd need to replace if I use the kit part? I'm thinking at least the wheel hub and bearings. Any thoughts?
