I want another 1/8 nitro Truggy!!!

Please tell me what happened to this hobby! Iíve only been out for about 6 years but what happend to OFNA and Losi??? I would like to buy a 1/8 nitro Truggy with some decent parts pre installed and Iím only finding this Losi rtr plastic toy!! This is a real bummer. What happened to all the decent rtr nitro trucks??? I love brushless with LiPo but I really want another nitro machine!!!

If you are not looking for a non-plastic RTR then you will have to go with a kit. Maybe see if anyone has a truggy for sale on the For Sale section. Add engine and radio and all set. It also depends on what your intentions are with the hobby. If you are going to bash in the back yard and maybe hit a track twice in a year, the Losi RTR is more than enough to complete that task. If you are looking to race every weekend, then a kit would be more at hand.

Iím a die hard Losi, guy. Not sure why, just always loved the way they are designed, and how they drive. I got out for a little while myself, around the release of the Losi 3.0 series truggy. So I ran mostly the Losi original stuff, and the 2.0 series truggy. I just got back in myself, a few months ago, and of course, went straight back to Losi. Heres my advice, if you are gonna get back in, and want only a Losi truggy, just wait for the release of the new Losi X truggy. I myself, couldnít wait, so I just went with the buggy for now, but will definitely get the truggy when it comes out. The big reason I say wait, is because the new Xís are SO much different than all the last 4 series. Different hardware (now all metric, not standard), and literally only 10 percent of all the parts on the number series, cannot be used in the new X series. So if you. Get anything 4.0 and earlier, basically you are gonna run into the issue of not being able to order new or spare parts, as they are gonna taper off even producing them anymore. Iím real happy with the Losi Eight X, Iím sure if you are a fan of the Losi series like me, you will love the X.

Sorry that was supposed to say ONLY 10% of parts in number series, can be used in X. From what I understand, only the clutch bell and some minor parts transfer over, like bearings and shims.

The TLR 8ight T 4.0 kit is still available.

or get the RTR and throw option parts at it (which would be way cheaper)

Looking for one too. Wanna stuck with Mugen though.

There never was a high end rtr. Always a Kit was better.

So true. A RTR 8ight might as well be an entirely different car from a real 8ight kit.

Not necessarily cheaper, the diffs are completely different and not race spec diffs and will cost $120 or more just to upgrade from the RTR diffs.

Vs. The money you have to spend on the kit after you buy the kit, an RTR with 4.0 diffs and all the TLR option parts (which there aren't many of) would still be cheaper.

There are a lot more parts than just the diffs.... Shocks, shock towers, adjustable links, chassis, and many more. Would you need all of these? No. But there are a lot more downgraded parts than just the diffs.

I would just buy a used latest edition kit here on the for sale forum. It will turn out ot be cheaper in the short and long run.

i don't believe anyone here is disagreeing with you on that.

Some are making it sound like it's just the diffs that are different.

I have a 8ight-t rtr and I've definitely cartwheeled if a few times and I haven't broken a thing yet. I'm honestly surprised how well it's holding up.
