My stock 48t spur gear is a bit worn out now.... is it true the TLR spur gear is a straight drop in and can last longer than the HB stock spur gear?

If you want better parts quality just run a Losi.
I really hate when people start Frankensteining buggies they think it will improve durability or performance.

LOL I love my HB I had a TLR.... did not like it. And ur post is not helping.... stop hating and make this hobby fun. I race but there are people who tinker ... so don't hate those people. Don't be a "racer" snob .

I’ve seen a decent amount of pro drivers “frankensteining” their cars for testing purposes and not long after the new team car has a similar part on it. Other manufacturers springs, diff cases, axles all have been used for testing of durability and performance.
Buckland likes this.

What is really need that’s not in the kit to compete at the top level with these cars? I know the car is good but what puts it at the next level? Thanks!

The only thing that does not come in the kit is a decent driver, get yourself one of those and you results will improve immediately.

I’ve ran mine one race so far… and it’s goooood out of the box, maybe a touch too much steering but that can be calmed down with simple tuning parts like sway bars and springs …..
more steering and the car just felt more responsive to throttle and brake inputs from the car I was running

I’ve ran a Losi spur on my HB, it will fit but it’s slightly thinner, so I put a shim on the bearing before dropping it in, that prevents it from moving back and forth. It worked ,but I prefer the stock HB.

So its no secret, we should be seeing the latest revision of the D819 soon. What updates are others hoping to see?
Here is what I would like.

Captured hinge pins.
Improved radio box, mainly just the lid. Maybe making it 2 or 3 pieces? Easier access to battery.
Include o rings for shocks to be emulsion.

Other than this keep the car as is because it rocks lol.

Rumor floating around is after Worlds for new car. We will see! My opinion this is the best car out of the box period for all drivers.
