I didn’t say there was no difference just that it is not worth the money when there is a new truck with basically the same diffs in it. The money is better spent on the new platform.

The point of the ht diffs was to get more oil so they would be more consistent and give more drive out of corners. A kyosho front or rear diff holds like twice the oil of the smaller Mugen diffs.

if you haven’t built a Pillow Ball Mugen before, just take your time when putting in the alloy caps into the hubs to ensure you don’t cross thread them. Also, install the spring collars on the Shock bodies from the top, rather than the bottom, and use a bit of green slime or tiny amount of grease or shock fluid on the o ring that’s inside the collars, to ensure they don’t get damaged by the threads.

I’d start with the box set up, and modify from there if you have too.

Enjoy the build, it’s a beautiful kit to build

cheers

I ended up using Casey’s set up I got off him. However I used an alloy servo saver. Truck is heaps dialled on low medium bite rough track. Thanks for your tips, went together a breeze

the mugen is a way newer truck, the Tlr is a older truck so some parts you might wanna update to some newer upgraded options. I have a Tlr but it has upgraded parts but on it and I like it a lot the way it drives. I never tried the mugen 8t so can’t speak on it but it looks like a good truck. If your buying a new car to start racing I’d go with mugen cause it just came out and you’ll have a newer model and not a older Tlr model that will probably see a revision in maybe a year.

Mugen all day. T 4.0 is way too outdated.

The kit setup is really good in my opinion. I changed nothing except for adding a 50 gram weight to the rear. This is the best all around performing truck I've ever driven.

Default New mUgen Truggy what motor?

Got the itch for nitro, I have a Mugen WE i just got doing a OS Adam drake motor in that with a 2090 pipe. I want to do a truggy build aswell and race that even tho at my local track they lump nitro truggy with E truggy . What OS motor do you guys suggest I want to do something different then my adam drake edition. What would be the best option you think?
