Shock Air Removal Tools
Hey all,
What are people using as a shock air removal tool for 8th scale offroad shocks? The Tamiya Extra Long seems to be the industry standard, however, I am not convinced that it will hold the modern taller shock bodies under the clear lid. (Not the extended shock shaft) In all honesty, I bought a used Tamiya pump a number of years ago to try it and was not happy with it. In it's standard configuration, the clear lid did not fit over the shock bodies as I mentioned. The directions say to remove one of the sleeves and press it over the base to allow for the taller shock bodies. **I did use it with with 10th scale shocks and loved how it worked. https://www.amainhobbies.com/tamiya-...m54152/p208367 I don't know if mine was old, and brittle, or if I am an idiot (possible) but when I added the sleeve, it was a very, very tight fit and the sleeve actually cracked from being stretched after a couple tries. I'll get another if you guys say that they work great. Or, is there a different brand that you have had success with? Amain has the Ride brand also, but it looks like it uses the same clear lid as the Tamiya. https://www.amainhobbies.com/ride-sh...d29101/p541708 Thanks for your input. |
Multiple people are using the long RIDE vacuum pump in my area with great success. Recently, I bought one for myself and it works great as well. Holds pressure, is well made and has a nice bag to store it safely. It's also cheaper than the Tamiya counterpart. I can recommend it.
