Back in Late 90/Early 2000's I raced primarily RC10GT and on road nitro:

During this time, there was this older guy that used to come by the place where I would practice with the on road cards with his Kyosho buggy. Wanted one since that day, just never could afford one..

Left the hobby for about 12 years and came back with a TLR 8IGHT RTR :-D

I now have my sons Kyosho Inferno NEO 2.0 (he doesn't like nitro much, prefers electric) and the original RTR above, which has been converted to electric. Also added a full on race 8IGHT 3.0 as well.

These things are soooo much fun! :-D

Nice Pics. The 8Eight looks fast standing still eh.

Seems like everyone saw someone else with a Buggy, Nitro or both, and then wanted one. Neighbour had a Tamiya hornet. From then on was a "Must have"

(*I should have pics for this thread. Kids didnt carry/own cameras back in 93.)

Hah, I was just noticing that. Like a soda bottle cap eh.
Unscrewing a cap was small price to pay to not to wait 12 hours to charge another Old skool Ni-Cd Battery

Is that a Mugen up there? Pretty sweet for a first car

My first buggy. I was so proud of this one. It was like art! Mine had a GRP Ninja on it, my favorite engine of all time.

Thanks for clearing that up. XRAY make great cars, and tools you didn't even know you needed .

I'm probaly being cynical after seeing this

Exactly XB8 TQ. Beautiful buggy, but very hard to setup for our U.S. style tracks. Tried some crazy diff setups with it, thatís for sure!

Hello KyoMP9e,

Hahaha.. Everybody just try to make a living I guess..

My first 1/8 Nitro Car would be Kyosho Land Jump back in 1984. Started to race 1/10 Electric Buggy in 1986 and not until 1990 when I started to race 1/8 Nitro Buggy seriously with Kyosho Turbo Burns. Unfortunately, I don't have any picture of them..

Cheers..

Promo pics will do if you had a buggy that kool. Kids didnt own cameras in the 80's
I didn't know kyosho had anything before the Optima, especially 1/8 4WD

Not to jack your post but I found some nice pics to keep the thread pretty.
I saw a Javelin once, but 10 years after it was made. Did you buy this in the 80's?

tallyram,

Yannick Aigoin was running XB8TQ and leading almost 1 full lap at the 2006 IFMAR WC in Jakarta when marshall accidentally close the stinger and stalled His RB engine. If not, XRAY was surely got their first WC title. He was using a Prototype Active Diff at the Front.

Cheers..

Hello KyoMP9e,

Yes, I bought the model back in the early 80's. If I wasn't mistaken, it was a clearance item from a closing R/C Hobby store in my home town.

Cheers..
