I don't know how thick the tuning kit chassis is but one track layout I practiced a lot on the tuning chassis was to flexible for all the jumps my chassis flexed so much on the layout and was burning marks in the tank. I know that can happen If the motor comes loose but it wasn't loose at all the chassis was to flexible on that layout so if the new chassis is around that thickness that extended motor mount would help with that.

The tuning kit chassis pretty much starts life as a std 4.0 chassis but is mostly milled down to 3mm and then has way more pocket milling, a few extra holes for diff location,etc...compared to the 4.0 and the new X..... its like comparing apples with oranges.... two completely different animals and layouts. The new X is incomparible to the older Losi's and can probably no longer be called an evolution of the ol 2.0 as it is so far removed from the old designs that not too much has been re-used(design wise) and that we are pretty much talking about a brand new buggy on the market

The material feel of a real 3mm chassis opposite to a shaved down 4mm chassis is completely different..

Had tlr decided to race the 4.0 and then release the X afterwards it would have a baseline to compare to, they could spin the results any way to make the X being an improvement. It surely isn't true that the factory team had zero experience with the car, that would be suicidal when you try to make a good impression to the buyers which is what matters right?

It didn't went well but comparing the announced changes to my data on the old car I can share that the new car is more neutral to drive, still a thing or two that can be improved but I'm almost sure the team behind it will take care of it.

The Xray doesn't come standard with universals.

At our race 2 weeks ago, the track was gnarly. Super rough, 3 inch ruts, ect. I started out running the tuning kit, and by the main, I was back to my standard set up with the tuning chassis. I didn't care for the universals. I wonder if their decision was based on their factory drivers not really running them....

I think Phend had it a week or two before and had limited practice and one race on it, JR got the car same day he arrived at Nats.

You can't compare the flex of the 4.0 tuning kit chassis to the X.
beyond the above mentioned reasons for oneone new chassis is much wider, two I'd suggest they haven't milled the sides folds off like before. It will most likely be stiffer than the stock 4.0 chassis. But that wasn't all that stuff either compared to a 3mm chassis without the sides milled down

What for motor mount you using? I use the quick change mount...gives a little extra support. Use to have a king headz extended mount, but sold it long ago...wish I had it for the tuning chassis. Have the front alum. brace in and thinking about putting my alum. back brace in. I noticed the bell rubbing the tank in last weeks race but had a couple of crazy crashes "more then normal" " token" ..lol. But need to say...them K-cars were hooking up...not sure why.

Would've love to hear the reasoning behind the SAI and the front end dog bone plunge.

How much SAI does it have? Why? A nod to pillow ball?

Going by the pics of the front steering hub I see I5 T2, so it should be 5* of inclination and 2mm trail like the mbx7r and the front axle is angled like the mp9 and the mbx series, not saying it's a copy of one or another because geometry is tire dependent I just want to know the whys.

I don't see any reason to run so much scrub nor SAI (our cars haven't any space constraints like 1:1 cars) so I am asking here in hopes of someone in the know to school me.
