Hey Token. I bought both my 8ight-x used. I just noticed the rear links are different with the one with the Apexx hubs installed. Do you know the reason for the shorter rear link. I can't find the post regarding this.

Also any reason why someone would cut off the front part of the motor mount. Cause it isn't a break. It was cut off.

To increase chassis flex and aid in traction, the theory behind it anyways.

I see, how about the rear links. I know I saw a post of this mod, but I can't find it. There were others that did this to the rear camber links.

Not for sure how true this is, but I was told by some one involved at horizon that the mayako heavily influenced the new car. Apparently one was purchased and studied.

I dont see that. Its based off what we learned from the 8X the last few years and a little off the 8XT.

The people at Horizon that would have that information would never let it out.

Never say never 😉 you would be surprised by how many manufacturers purchase other cars just to study them and learn secrets if that’s how you think.

Companies do buy other manufacturers cars for testing and R&D.

I donít think I would be studying a Mayako. Nothing against Mayako, but there platform is still relatively new. If anything the Mugen, Kyosho and HB are all proven and really have not had major redesigns over the years, which is probably because they already work well.

If anything they probably got a Mayako to study on what NOT TO DO.
