Default Kyosho GXR28 swap out

Hi guys,

First time poster and tech amateur!

Just getting back into RC after a long time off.

I have a Kyosho Inferno Sports 2 with the GXR28 engine.

I've always found this engine awful, difficult to tune etc and it needs a new pull start.

I'd like to swap out the engine but wonder how to pick one that fits? Do nitro engines have a universal screw arrangement or do you need to drill the chassis?

Thanks in advance.
Paul.

they are fairly standard Paul

if you stick with pull start or rotostart you are fairly limited for engine choice, but wont need a starter box .

most pull or rotostart engines will not be the easiest engines to tune but should work fairly well . im sure a few guys will chime in soon with their opinions on good quality RTR style engines .

good luck man

Try to find a Picco 5TR .28 Pullstart. That's your best chance at a decent pullstart engine, or the Picco E1 Pullstart would also be okay.

Novarossi Legend 28-8RT? I have one and love it. It’s stupid easy to tune compared to the Taiwanese RTR rubbish IMO. It’s crazy strong too.
