Default Help with starter box

I have a Losi 8ight RTR and I got a generic starter box. I took the motor out to make sure the fly wheel was perfectly lined up. The starter wheel spins fine with no car on it, but when I put the car on the fly wheel stops and does not turn the motor over. Feels like it does not have enough power.

Any thoughts on why this is?

Is it a new motor in the Losi? If so, are you preheating it? If not it could be your starter battery or the motor.

I think it might be my starter battery. I was trying to use two 2cell lipos. I think I need more power.

Do you agree?

I don't think thats it.

I have 2 2000mah NiMh packs powering my Protek box and it lasts all day, no issues starting that .21, don't even need to preheat.

It could be if the starter box has a deck height adjustment, that might be too low, so low that when its fully depressed, its too much contact on the flywheel and seizing it up

I think I found my answer. I need to get different engine mounts. The RTR's engine mount is too high

duh me. Completely forgot about that

Did you convert the back plate to non-pull start already? If not, no point in getting the engine mounts.

Pick up the backplate, DYNE 1506. You will also need the 4.0 engine mounts TLR241017.
