Default Reciever Lipo Cut-Off?

Last nitro race, I had a DNF due to my electronics stopping working... I have a good throttle return mechanism and a run away didn't occur... My electronic cut off occurred when I was hard on breaks anyway... Turn the switch off and back on and the electronics would come back.

My radio is a Futaba 4PLS and R304SB telemetry receiver....
My linkages and endpoints are set correctly...

I was able to replicate the cut-off at home by turning the switch on and vigorously moving the steering and throttle. At cutoff, the last registered voltage of the receiver was in the low five volt range. (Not good for a LiPo).

Anyway, I'm pretty sure my receiver pack is bad, but what bothers me is why a standard brownout didn't occur? e.g., Why didn't the receiver just shut off momentarily when the voltage was too low? Does the Futaba receiver have some kind of low voltage cut-off I'm not aware of?
