Default 2018 Silver State

Looks like Joey found a new home for the Silver State race.

"Event dates for the 2018 Silver State race will be May 4-6th. Location will be at the South Point Hotel/Casino-Spa in Las Vegas! This will be the 1st time in the events history that it wil be in an enclosed indoor arena."

Does the place already exist or will it be a build and tear down after the weekend?

RC racing needs more events like this to get it growing again. Way to go Joey!

Had heard a few rumors that someone was trying to make the Silver State event happen,
Then I got home a couple days ago and saw all the info posted up. Very interesting to go indoors, but could work long term if things work out right or well. A bit later in the year than usual for the event, but at least it's going to happen. Certainly has my attention for sure.

There are a bunch of big events all on the east coast. Thereís motorama, psycho nitro blast, sic, ams and more. At least every quarter, there is a big race on the east coast.

Yes - very easy to find an indoor big race in the south east. SIC just ran last weekend near Montgomery, AL. PNB is in April in White Pine, TN (HUGE indoor facility with stadium seating all around the dirt floor). AMS is in June in Cullman, AL. Wicked Weekend is in August in Gainesville, GA. Wicked is in a covered arena floor without walls.

All of these are one race wonders. They rent an indoor facility that has a dirt floor typically used for rodeos, motocross, or whatever. They come the weekend before, get the drivers stand, pit lane, and scoring booth assembled (same one used for all four events). Then they build the track and have it done usually by Wednesday or Thursday. Practice starts Thursday or Friday, and race around the clock until Sunday evening. Good stuff. It can be pouring down the rain, tornado (SIC 2017), windy, or whatever outside, but the track is not affected.
