So how long does the battery last in that car. Has anyone actually seen how long the car will run? Just curious.

I'm not sure but they are fairly slow, and with a silver can and a 4200, I'd think you'd get a ton of runtime.

thinking of getting team together for the Endurance race. and would like to know what to expect from the battery, because I bet the stock speedo does not have a lipo cutoff. Maybe it does? I have not really looked up the speedo. Is fairly slow like VTA slow or slower?

https://www.tamiyausa.com/pdf/manuals/45057ml.pdf This is a link to the esc, it does in fact have a low voltage cutoff. Slower than vta, and I wouldn't be surprised at 30 min or more of runtime.

it says low voltage for Life pack. 4.8 volts. that will not work for lipo.

Protection systems: overheat, overload, low voltage to 4.8V (LiFe battery only) Note: Does not support LiPo 6.0 voltage cut-off

Has there been much testing on motor temps running the silver can in this specific chassis?

We ran them last night, and they do get a bit warm even after a short race. More testing will definitely be done as we are still over a month away.

Also TimK, you are right on the lipo cut, thats a bit unfortunate. I guess you will just have to either time your runs or just pull it once power drops.

I've done quite a few long runs in testing and I'm getting 30-35 minutes. Car was very obviously slow and the end of the runs, more than two seconds off the fast lap time, limping around the last lap and the battery still read 6.5v+ when put back on the charger.

I've seen 120-140 after long runs. Nowhere near hot enough to burn the motor down. I'm going to try a two hour run this Wednesday to get some more info. I've probably got 4+ hours on the car right now and the only thing I've had to replace is part# MA16, pressure plate B in the rear diff. Once, in the first 30 minutes, because I didn't do any preventative maintenance when I got the car. Second time was this past Wednesday while testing a B/L motor and literally jumping the car off the curbs!

Any lipo fitment issues? I know with the FF01 (same chassis) lipos were hard to get the holder on.

Honestly so far the lipos have fit tight enough in the chassis that we havent had any issues with them. Just like you stated, they are too big to fit the battery end piece onto, but Ive yet to see one come out, or even move. If you wanted some sort of added assurance you could either rig up some sort of rubber band or O ring style strap to keep it pushed in, or if its loose at all, put a piece of foam inside the chassis.
I guess this means battery changes will be fast.
