I assume it is OK to eliminate the motor connectors and hardwire esc to motor?

No, you must leave bullets. For our Winter Series we use handout motors so the connectors must remain on ESC & motor.

OK, what about leaving the connectors, but shortening the wires?

I'm wanting to get bearings so when I get my kit I can be ready. From what I gathered I need 9 5x11, 2 5x8, 2 8x12, 2 6x12 and 2 10x15. Can anyone confirm this? Haven't found the manual online anywhere to check. This list differs from the old TA02SW manual I did find (circa 1996).

You will need 12 5x11, 6 5x8, 2 6x12 and 2 10x15 for a complete bearing set.

Thanks. Didn't think my list was correct. Just going by what most online hobby shops were saying I needed for bearings.

What is the part number for a replacement body? Can we reinforce the nose with shoe goo and fiberglass drywall tape?

Tamiya #1825148, yes reinforcing the body as well as adding to the bumper are legal.
