2014-2015 HobbyPlex Offroad Schedule
The Fall and Winter schedule shift will be here before you know it.
Here's what is going on.
Tuesdays will remain the same as always. We do "seed time" qualifying and double mains. This means your best three laps in ten-minutes sorts you into your main. You race that main twice and the scores are added together for the final finishing order. It's been working pretty well and puts more emphasis on heads up racing like never before.
Flame out Fridays Weekly nitro racing is back at the Plex. All 1/8th scale classes, nitro and electric will race on Friday nights at 7pm. We will also continue to offer Plexspec and Pro-4.
1:10 Saturday Speed. Saturdays are now reserved for 1:10 scale racing, except for the 1:8 Winter Series and special events.
1:8 Winter Series The dates for the 1:8 winter series are November 15th, December 13, January 17, Feb 7, March 14. That's right, winter series races are now on Saturdays. Classes are the TLR 1:8 Nitro Buggy, Serpent 1:8 Electric Buggy, 1:8 Nitro Truggy and Pro-4 SCT. We'll run electric truggy and gas truck if there's enough to fill marshaling positions, but they will not have a grand prize drawing at the end of the year.
Having a more consistent race schedule is a priority of mine, so this will be the permanent, year round, race schedule. Once we get past the weekend races coming up in October and December expect those type of events to be spread out a lot better in the future.

THANK YOU for moving the winter series to Saturdays!!!!!!! Adding nitro back to a weekly schedule is awesome too, might get a few of us Iowegians over for some club racing before the series events.
I have a feeling this year is going to have some of the best competition yet!

Schedule looks good! Hoping we can come down from ND for more racing this winter. Friday nitro before the series races is super appealing.

I believe that they are just the class sponsors, not that you can only races those brands.
It is for me a bummer that they got moved to Saturday. I work on Saturdays, so I'll have to take off of work to be able to race. I enjoyed coming down on Saturday and racing Saturday and Sunday. I even bought a B4.2 to race on Saturday (going off the old schedule). And I promise I'm not complaining!
TLR is this year's title sponsor of the nitro buggy class. Serpent America is this year's electric buggy class sponsor.

Sweet Jesus...
Serpent is the class sponsor. We're giving away one of their rad e-buggies away at the end of the series. You can run whatever car you want.
Sadly, there hasn't been enough interest in E-truggy the last two years. It is REALLY difficult to convince anybody to send us anything for giveaways much less a full kit, especially with 8th scales.
So in order to secure the large stuff, the decision has been made to focus on the 4 standard, most well attended race classes.
If we somehow get a heat of gas truck and e-truggy, I'll gladly keep score of the points and award plaques at the end of the season for the effort.
Also, Fridays before the Winter Series races will be a 1/8th practice night, just like we do for the Team Associated/Reedy Summer Series.
