I'm looking to start carpet racing sometime this year and have no idea what would be a good place to start with a car and electronics? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best classes from what I've been told are Mini and VTA.
both are budget-friendly and have rules as to what electronics you can run.

What is a good all wheel drive chassis for VTA?

Tamiya's, Xray's, Associated, Schmacher, Losi can all do well is VTA that's beauty of the class. If you just want to try it you can pick up a older chassis pretty cheap and then upgrade later if you like it. In VTA we all run the same tires, motor,FDR and a blinky or non-programmable ESC. What this does is keep the races close and driving skills and setup becomes all important.
