Default Clodbuster with hot motor?

I am using the old version of this ESC: https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/prod...18212301930611 which was the 860. I am currently using 19 turn motors with the 860 on my Super Clod. Will the 880 handle 17 turn or 15 turn dual motors without frying? https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/prod...18212301930611

Will the 880 handle a hotter motor than the 860 did? And will the Super Clods gearbox handle a 15 turn brushed motor?

Here is the motor brand I would be using:

https://www.amainhobbies.com/reedy-r...c27426/p947544

I will be using a 6cell nimh battery.

Would I need to lower my pinion tooth gear? Sorry but I have no clue... what size pinion does the Super Clod come with? Thank you guys for all your time! Or would I be better off with 2 silver cans and a 3s or 4s lipo?

The 880 website says, "Brushed Motor Limit with 2S LiPo /6S NiMH: ≥ 12T or RPM<[email protected] (540, 550 Size Motors)" so it should be able to handle the 15t motor with your 6S NiMH battery. Just keep an eye on the temperature and adjust pinion size from there.

I would go LiPo if you have that option, though.

Do you think I need 12 tooth pinions with the 15T motors. Will 2s Lipo be faster than 6s nimh? Or did you mean I should go with the silver cans and the 3s or 4s lipo?

Will 3s LiPo work with 15 turn motors with the 880 ESC? Or would it smoke the esc?

I heard a 3S lipo battery will be too much power for the gearboxes. Is that true? I would be using a 19t motor.

Actually the 3S lipo battery is supposed to be too much for the 880 esc. Even the Traxxas EVX-2 ESC can only handle 16.8 volts so 2, 3S lipos would be 22.2 volts and too much for that ESC as well...

So would 2, 17 team brood and a 3s lipo burn up the motors super fast? And would the 880 ESC be able to handle that voltage? I never had this question answered... Thanks guys!

Is this the HPI firebolt 15 turn motor people talk about for the Clod? Why is it only $15? Is this a fake? All the other ones on ebay are $20
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hobby-Produ...wAAOSwxJVe1Ynt
Where does it say the firebolts have zero timing? Dont the motors that go in a clod have to have zero timing?

Do the firebolts have zero timing though?

I don’t remember, for the price, probably. The E-Revo 21t motors would have some, that why one is reverse rotation specific wand I seem to remember them being used in some Clods.

You can get some modified the motor with open endbell then you can adjust or reverse the timing

And 880 esc can run up to 4s. You would run a single 4s lipo, not two in series.
