Default most durable ESC for high amp 4s and 6s truggy

hi everybody,

I had a couple of burnt esc lately : i guess my new ramp draws too much current and my usual turnigy trackstar 150A burnt ( i guess they burnt, but there is no obvious burnt electronic component .. ).
those are suposed to handle a peak of 950 Amps

i actually never tried other escs!

are the hobbywing durable ? there will be some 6s truggy bashing and 4s buggy bashing
i use turnigy trackstar 2350Kv motors on 4s and turnigy 2000 kv on 6s

what is the best high amp ESC in your opinion ?

The Castle MMX is super reliable and handles anything. I'm sure the Hobbywing Max 8 is fine too.

Get the Castle USB link, endless tuning options. I like castle and Hobbywing, i have both and no issues with either. Keep up the Tricks!

Castle is for the amateur basher. HobbyWing is a big step up.

I went 127MPH on a MMX, easily 25 times without a hiccup. I could not go any faster then 116MPH on a Max 5 esc...

I had a Max 8 setup in a Losi 3.0 Truggy melted it twice(6s) now the truck has an original Mamba monster, and the thing just wont quit.....

Ran an XR8/ 2650 G2 combo on my serpent GT car, I liked the system... that car now has a MMX, I like it much more.

That's pretty hilarious considering the Max 5 is a MASSIVE 1/5 ESC. I have 3 Mamba Monsters and they have handled everything from big jump crashes to speed runs, they work so well. Anyone who discredits the MMX doesn't have a clue of what they're talking about, I wouldn't run any other 1/8 ESC for bashing.

"Lol" he didn't ask for advanced or more features. He asked for durable. I stand by my statement. HobbyWing > Castle. If you don't want HobbyWing then Tekin is even better.

I've been in the hobby for about 30 years so I've used ESCs from pretty much every big name brand. Do your own research and come up with your own conclusions as well.

Simply put, if you are looking for an ESC to allow you to draw current, castle is your only option.

The hobbywing 1/5 scale ESC I ran (the Max 5, and a Leopard 200a) all had very good current limiting in place. That wouldn't let you melt down the ESC. Both ESC's were extremely smooth. However, if your looking for AMP's in my findings they are not the go to ESC. My Max 8 system, I was never happy with I popped caps on it well under geared using extremely clean Cells, and their supplied cap pack, Twice.

All of my Brushless experiences with Tekin have been less then favorable. I had 2 4030 and 4038 G2 motors magnets let loose while not being abused both 4s in 1/8 scale buggy/ truggy. My Cousin and Myself have both had issues with RX8 gen2's, as well as many of our racing buddies. However many have luck... Again if your seeking Amps, I wouldn't fork out cash for a Tekin. However on one of my MOA crawlers I run a FX-R pro to run 2 motors, and absolutely love it.

That being said I have melted down 2 XL2's (drawling over 400a) that I melted down. Obviously my fault. I have a XLX that let go when I hit a pole at 140 ish backwards... I burn't up a MMX, when locked a magnet to a rotor and called for power, again my fault and castle covered it.

I have data Logged over 400a's on my XLX's on 8s numerous times and havent had issues yet. When I do, It'll be my fault not castles...
