The traxxas t-maxx is 1/10th scale and faster but not by much maybe 4mph more, more likley to break on landings and cant really take to much abuse, more of a racer than basher but can be made more sturdy for bashing

The hpi savage is 1/8th scale and not as fast as the t-maxx but a switch of the gearing can change that, its a very sturdy truck that knows how it take a beating and keeps asking for more. Great basher

I had a t-maxx 2.5 and i hated it, i out more money in it than i have with the savage and i'm very happy with the savage. Best of luck bro and i hope you get a savage you will love it

yea open your eyes there are savage vs t-maxx threads everywhere. read around in the "which truck should i get?" threads also. my personal opinion is the new Savage X but ive been through this in like 4 other threads.
