Excited to hear more about this one! If you document this build we'd be happy to feature it on our site and Facebook pages. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

So, it's been a month and a half and it's safe to say that the build is nearly done. Near enough to run and wreak havoc but still has room for improvement here and there.
That being said......
The 17t pinion fits perfectly with the 50t spur. Honestly, I think that's as big a pinion that will fit with the 50 without modifying the motor mount.
Next was refilling the center diff with heavier oil. All I can say is, 100,000cst oil is like..... sludge.... clear sludge. It is THICK!!! (And to think, I'll be putting 1,000,000cst diff fluid in my 8IGHT EU Speed Runner!!! Lord only knows what THAT will be like!!)
Driving: Honesty prevails here.... I drove the truck before I changed to the thicker diff fluid. I haven't driven yet WITH the new fluid....
BUT
Even on a 2S, 7.4v battery that only propels this 15 pound beast up to a staggering 21mph, it is a blast to drive. Even just around my cul-de-sac where my only obstacle is the curb. The little monster immediately pulls forward with authority and easily crawls right up the curb at any angle. Pulling straight up to the curb and going from park to GO! launches the truck into the air up and over the curb. Torque. It's your friend. Having those Sumo Racing diff mount spacers really paid off. Nine bucks. Seriously, they are a steal. I think if I eventually went down to the standard 45t spur, I'd still leave the spacers in. I'll be upgrading my skid plates to the Sumo Racing pieces next. Those are also a good deal. Look up Sumo Racing on eBay to see what they have for your vehicle.
I changed the body slightly since the first picture was taken. Since I'm a Texan and we always go big..... where one flag was good.... two are better. With custom mounts that allow me to clip the poles in, I can change flags easily and if they break it's simply grab a new one, drill it for the body clip and reinstall.

Damn cool! Are you happy with handling?

I am. The thing conquers everything I throw at it.
The only thing I might change is the sway bars. I'm thinking about removing them.
Pros: increased articulation.
Cons: body roll.
I guess I'll just try it and see.
I also have not tried 4S in it so I also have to try that.
But otherwise, I love it.
Went to a rc meet and drive it around the basher track and everyone steered clear of me cuz when they didn't, the thing would roll up and over them!!!
Don't Mess With Texas!!!
