Unhappy traded my Tmaxx for a Revo!

Hi guys I have or had 2 tmaxx 2.5R trucks! I love them both and i still have one.
i placed one i had on C list, that was RTR tuned my me, and was a cool truck!!
Very fast!! It had the motor jamminjeff sold me!! killer motor!! So I traded it for a Revo that is "not RTR but its got some cool stuff on it!!! the 3.3 is shot and leaks so ill need a motor... Ive replaced all the servos and cleaned the bearings. I have an extra 2.5R motor That I have put on the Revo But I'm eating spur gears.. I think she has a bent frame.. those are cheap but takes time..

this was a even swap and i know i have to tinker with this Revo but when im done she will me a nice truck.. so far other that trading my perfect Tmaxx Ive got about 15 buck in spur gears..

The blue Tmaxx I traded.. I have DSL so uploads are slow!

Here is my revo. I have sorted the electronics and I have put a 2.5 motor on it but it wont mesh!! Do you guy think the frame is bent?

The motor mount is fine.

The revo is so much better then the t-maxx.

You won't regret it.

Looks like you need a new spur gear?
Maybe it would mesh correct then?

Nice deal I'd say, the Revo platform has a lot going for it over the Maxx line. Handling and ease of maintenance is probably the biggest advantages.

A bent chassis is kind of rare unless you plow into something really, really hard or get ran over by an actual car. The Revo chassis is even more durable than the T Maxx chassis. I wonder if your engine mount is moving away from the spur when you're driving? Or maybe the part of the chassis where the engine mounts to is slightly bent? I'd check the slipper pressure plate assembly and the input shaft it sits on, I've had both those bend out of shape on different trucks over the years causing stripped spurs.

I would assume the motor is moving away from the spur gear to be causing it to strip out like that. Check the motor plate mount and screws going into the motor to make sure they are tightened. Might want to use some loctite on it.

That right there, would be a spur wheel at this point, not a gear. It doesn't have any teeth left!

Get a new spur gear, and see if you can get your gear mesh. If you still can't, try going up a few teeth on the pinion gear, or get a bigger spur gear to get your gear mesh. Also, make sure your motor mount isn't sliding around like previously mentioned. Loctite is your friend!

Seems like the engine is moving. I would go ahead and get another gear as trying to save that one will only give you headaches in the future and it will eventually strip out.

Like the Revo over the Maxx? I have build a lot of Tmaxx's and just love them, modded all of them because, well, they do need it in some areas, but now I feel like I can build one from the ground up by memory.
