Billy, do you notice any difference with the tires? Several folks online claim the tires seem like a stiffer compound, despite the tread design being identical.

I have an 8s power up on my X-Maxx now but I'm considering getting a new one for the new motor.

Are the battery trays any different?

Just looked it up. New motor is 1200kv. Old motor is 1600kv. Individual parts should become avaliable.
Yes. New tires feel different. Don't seem to want to balloon like the old ones. Can see that in video. Have to see how they hold up. But something is clearly different.
Nothing seems different about battery tray. I considered going with a strap system to use larger batteries. But I really like the stock system.

I noticed less ballooning with my V1 tires and PUK. It's do to the new center diff. Which doesn't allow all the power to transfer to the front wheels like before or in all V1 XMAXX's.

Might be part of it. I might try swaping the new tires onto the old truck. I've had other with center diffs that would turn all 4 tires into pizza cutters.

Hey, Bud!

Sorry for the late reply. Don't know how I missed this.

You'll need the plastic shim in this kit Traxxas 7781.

Traxxas TRA7781 Carrier Differential Gaskets X-Maxx | eBay

You will also need to trim it like this to make it fit.

Note: this is a mod for using the stock 6s gears, ring and pinion. May work on the 8s gears.

My buddy @sask_rc (Instagram) was blowing gears left and right. After this mod. No issues. He is testimony that this work. He also runs his rigs hard.

looks like you cut the shimm down, did you trim it? I ask, becasue i did that mod to mine and it made the diffs too tight, im wondering if you trimmed it and that made it not so tight.
Thanks,
trout

has anyone had any luck replacing the stock traxxas TX with a futaba TX? I have a Futaba 4px that i am trying to use with my xmaxx but for whatever reason there is no power getting to my futaba RX when i turn the truck on. I have tried multiple known working RX with no luck so far.

**edit ended up ordering a Hobbywing Max 6 ESC today so this issue should be resolved come the weekend**
