For sure that is an option. I attribute the success of my HD gears to the aluminum housing by GPM racing. After speaking with Traxxas they are also aware that the plastic housing can fail easily. So it is strongly suggested to acquire an aluminum housing. I got mine from www.Atees.com. also when these parts are available we will be able to acquire the aluminum or the metal diff case. But I am currently using the GPM racing diff case.

Still can't believe the issues with diffs. My e revo had nothing but issues until you spend a bunch on losi diffs along with all the axles. Instead of doing anything for that truck they build a bigger one with same issues

Knock on wood I run 6 1/8 buggy/truggys from associated with large nitro motors or 2200kv 6s set ups and never once have replaced a pinion or ring. From standing back flips to wide open landings at skate parks to speed runs. Traxxas should be able to make some better gears.

Yeah, no. Traxxas is not the same quality as 1/8 buggies and truggies. My Associated vehicles are bullet proof.

100 percent agree with you..I made the switch years ago to pretty much all 1/8 scale associated. The e revo was the jump into brushless from all nitro when it first come out

Agreed, but you can't deny that it's just stupid fun to beat the snot out of a Traxxas....

It is fun, but could be more fun if they were tougher. I've yet to see an Xmaxx in person, every time I stop by the Hobbyshop they don't have one on display. I'll probably buy one if I get to see one.

Until then I'll keep bashing my old school RC8E and RC8TE CE which are both pretty much indestructible.
