That's $800 for a plastic truck. I'll wait for the gas version for an aluminium pan chassis like the T-Maxx. Until then, I have my sights on a Losi LST XXL2-E. I'm curious why they decided to go so big. I can barely find anywhere big enough to run my MGT, let alone open it up. Something this size is going to be tough for city folks to run.

personally I don't think you need a big area to run this. You just need the area to have the kind of obstacles, etc. you want for a vehicle of this size. With it being electric, not like you have to spool up the motor.

Yeah, lots of plastic here for sure, though, in general I look for aluminum in key areas (like motor mounts) but not things like a-arms, shock towers, etc. as that is just bling that bends.

With a variety of vehicles going larger size electric, I'd love to see something become of it for the racing crowd.

I wish there was a monster truck kit with the same quality as some of these 1/8 buggies. I would buy one for sure. I've spent quite a bit upgrading my current Emaxx so I hope this one is a little more durable. I'm beginning to think it may be better to just buy the parts and build one from scratch.

What about a 1:8 scale truggy?
My RC8Te had great thick a-arms, and was nice to drive.

That's what I was thinking. A lot of plastic for $800. I guess they have to pay for there r&d somehow

I don't know if you guys have seen this yet, but according to a guy on the URC Forum Traxxas is not allowing discounts on this truck.

I'm not sure if this would apply . TH isn't lowering the price to sell it , Its selling at retail then applying discount to a total purchase price So technically if you added a $2 set of body clips to order You could argue that your getting a hell of a rebate back on a set of body clips .
Guess will just have to wait and see till it ships .

I hope you are correct. I'd be out for $800. All it says on tower hobbies is that you can't apply a coupon code because it is a "drop ship" item from the manufacturer. Hopefully that changes once it becomes "in stock."

Hope So to
Traxxas should hook up with Monster Jam (again ???) not sure if Grave Digger was a one off or Jam associated , But that would be a huge tie in for sure . Seems like with the size and 40ish top speed It Would be cool to set up a course indoor stadium like and go Bash Competition style with em .

Aluminum will just bend and need to be replaced. Plastic can flex. I agree that some well-placed aluminum bits can be useful for reinforcement (like the aluminum chassis braces on my T-Maxx), but for the most part you want a decent amount of flex in a vehicle like this, because it's not going to be driven with racing-quality precision in the first place -- it's going to hit jumps wrong, it's going to land jumps wrong, and if it can't flex then parts will break. Probably parts will break anyway, since it's so big and heavy, but even more parts would break if the chassis were made of aluminum.

I held this thing at the hobby shop and its darn stout. I think it'll take a serious beating and all that aluminum does is add cost, this thing is built just how it should be for the basher
