Durable MT that can take a beating before upgrading
 

Been searching for a while and trying to settle on a vehicle

Emaxx is apparently an old style with weak parts that NEEDS upgrades right away

Savage HP apparently same thing, im a fan of the backflips though

The MT4 is supposed to be a great durable vehicle but now discontinued

The Kraton looks great and doesnt need 2 batteries, but no aftermarket parts and some people said theres broke quite quickly

Stampede 4 x 4 not the same size as above but its cheaper then the others except for the Kraton and appears to be pretty durable probably because of the lower weight

My budget is around $600 and i really wanted the MT4 arrgh

One you left off the list was the proline pro mt. I know it's only 2wd and 1/10 scale but it looks really cool and as far as I've heard very durable. Back flips are fun with the savage flux hp until you get tired of breaking diff pinion gears. I only wish the flux came as a kit.

I've had no breakage with my Pro MT . Bullet proof as far as I'm concerned .
A good CC motor & esc with a high torque servo and your good to go .
Oh a trans and receiver also needed .
If out of the box my kraton is very hard to beat .
Yes a couple weak parts , bearings and wing .
Both very easy and cheap fixes .
Except for the Pro MT the kraton has been my least needing upgrades to keep it running truck .

The MT4 G3 is NOT discontinued. Maybe they changed the part number again, or it has something to do with Tower losing the distributorship for TT or whatever. But the truck itself is not discontinued. For the money nothing will beat it.

Right now you can't buy the truck or parts in the states. I have one and it needs some parts right now and I can't get them. It is a great truck for the money though. Hopefully the new distributor will get there shit together so people in the US can buy thunder tiger stuff.

Get yourself a nice Losi lst2 or Losi xxl. There the absolute toughest stock mt made. There 1/8 scale and are just built to last with HUGE shocks and a all steel drive line.

What parts can you not find exactly? I just picked up a ton, albeit I had to go through a couple different vendors. Maybe I can help you find what you need. Also, a part # would make it a lot easier for me.

Not only that, the MT4 G3 shares parts with several other TT cars - like the ST-1, ST4 G3, the EB4 G3 and nitro version of the buggy, the rally car, etc..

I have two LST2's, and they have been very excellent.. LST parts are getting harder to find though - not like it used to be with cheap parts available from multiple chop shops. By all accounts the XXL-2 is a dud - the engine at least.

Yes i realize the MT4 is not discontinued but not for sale in the states, i will try to hold off for a bit longer and hope it comes in stock online somewhere

The Kraton looks great and the single battery helps with initial cost

Yep i found it odd that the Flux was advertised as a backflip truck even though that causes damage to the internals

I actually would consider increasing my budget for the LST XXL since its gas, but i have the worry of maintenance on it from the threads on nitro tuning and such and i def do not want nitro

Im taking a look at the Pro MT, i did want 4 x 4 but i may sacrifice it or just wait for the MT4

I bought a used stampede 4x4 for less than new with the axles already updated. Give me one bash session on a new rig and I will make it look like a used one. If you know how to work on stuff don't be scared of used.

The xxl2 is IMHO a not thought out design that used a old xxl and threw a crap motor in and called it a gasser to throw a ridiculous price tag on. It however will hopefully bring back a few old and maybe new manufacture's and get some more parts readily available. I find most parts and upgrades are still available on ebay. I like the fact you can buy a used lst2 or xxl then convert them and have a absolute monster and have less cash in then what most of the crap out there sells for. Not to mention there soooo easy to convert. I also like the idea when that when you convert you "know" the truck and its more satisfying to drive

You are seriously confused if you think the Savage Flux HP is the "same thing" as a brushless edition E-maxx because they both have been around for a long time!!!

The Savage blows the Maxx away in every fit and form out of the box...I have owned several of each kind and the ONLY thing the Maxx trucks trucks do better is turn - but who needs to do that when you can just go right over or through it with a Savage haha - JK!

Could you guess that I would suggest the Savage Flux HP as the best choice? They have tons of aftermarket and factory parts support and years upon years of detailed builds in forums to look at for tips.

I am not saying its the same thing, i was referring to the fact that people have mentioned out of the box it should have some aftermarket parts installed to make it more durable

As a vehicle i agree the savage is better than the maxx, durability wise people say the same thing for both of them that they need initial upgrades due to weak stock parts

So far the Kraton and MT4 seem to be the most durable 4 x 4s from forum posts
