Savage X 4.6

Savage x4.6 x2.

Beast out of the box, a few small upgrades as things break when you crash hard and will be even more of an animal!

Guardian707 12-01-2014 06:36 PM

What do you think about the monster gt 4.6??

Herrsavage 12-01-2014 09:06 PM

The Monster GT is good - sometimes to be had for a great price.. Back in the day I would have said Losi LST2, but they're not around anymore. Therefore, Savage 4.6 or MGT are top of the heap. Whichever floats your boat...

The MGT might need some upgraded shock caps or something...

Thanks
Will these work on the stock shocks?

I would recommend the Savage as well, IMO 8 shocks is just a huge pain. I will never own another 8 shock vehicle.

Yes, those caps will work great. For what it's worth, I really like my MGT. It and my Associated Rival are my two favorite trucks. Nothing at all wrong with 8 shocks unless you plan to jump it high, hard, and often.

Savages used to have eight shocks, and people bashed them that way for ages...

Used to being key.

Eight shocks are horrible.

People also used to almost die every winter due to not being able to keep warm and thier food going bad, thank god for change :D

I had a couple Savages, and there were far worse problems than the shocks.. The drivetrain, specifically. How shocks do on most cars is mostly a matter of set-up. Jumping all huge with overly soft shocks as they usually come out of the box will generally lead to problems.. - on any truck - MGT, LST2, Savage, MT4 G3, whatever... Eight shocks on a Savage was never a problem to any meaningful degree.

Shawner85 12-03-2014 06:02 AM

No ones saying the shock setup didn't work, I just wanted to shoot myself in the face every time I had to change my shock setup, twice the work. Plus on a bad crash you normally end up breaking 2 shocks instead of one. Cant possibly imagine why someone would want to argue 2 shocks being better than one that performs just as well...

Also the drive train on the new models doesn't seem to be a problem. Every thing has been beefed up pretty well over the years and if you know how to set your slipper and stay off the gas on landings your golden!

The new drive trains have the sintered bullet proof diffs. Same design as the flux with a little different material.

The new 4 shock design has much larger shock shafts and bodies which make them alot more durable. I buy nitro rc's used, fix them up and sell them on ebay. Every savage I've had with 8 shocks at least half of them were bent. Same goes for t maxx.

Herrsavage 12-03-2014 09:31 AM

Was also always very cheap to get new shocks from chop shops on ebay... The new shocks? Truggy and buggy shocks are very epensive....
