Some questions about Proline Tires
Can anyone tell me the difference between the normal tires and the 40 series?
What does the 3,8" on monstertruck wheels mean?
Thanks

Normal monster truck tires = 3.2" diameter wheels, Sometimes call Maxx size as they came on T/EMaxx trucks as well as Savage.
40 series = 3.8" diameter wheel that is also wider, Losi 420 wheels are the same size. These use a standard bead tire.
3.8 wheels = a 3.8" diameter wheel but does not use a standard bead. These came about because Traxxas started making a 3.8" wheel that uses a 1/8 buggy style bead, presumably for ease of assembly but this bead does seem to hold a little better. Proline was referring to these wheels as "Traxxas bead" but I guess they are trying to get away from that.
To confuse matters even further, I've seen Proline mark the packaging for their Trencher 40 series as "Trencher 3.8 (40series)" which would be easy to confuse with "Trencher X 3.8" which won't work on a standard bead rim. Pay attention to the tire bead and you'll be ok.

I use proline desperado Wheel with 3.8 mashers
those are not 40 series. I saw the mashers 40 series and they need wider rims.
I guess 40 series are meant for better side bite and higher speed. I 'm not sure but I think 40 series tires are even thicker. They should baloon less.
What do you want to do ?

In chronological order 3.2 came first, then 40 series, then 3.8 with the Traxxas/buggy bead. 40 series was just a wider, lower profile than 3.2 mostly for looks and came out during the monster truck craze before truggies came on the scene. 3.8 has the same low profile but not as wide for a bit less weight and looking more like a truggy tire.
