Starting problems

I recently bought a tmaxx used from a friend. It ran well before i bought it. However, shortly after purchasing it i tired to start it up and after alittle toying with it, got it started. Once i get it started i let it warm up for a minute or two. Once its idled for a few, i hit the gas and it bogs out. I have tired to lean it out, but when i do that it wont start anymore.

Any ideas?

I'm no expert, but maybe the low speed needle is not adjusted correctly. What kind of motor is it? TRX .15? TRX 2.5? Other?

Try adjusting the low speed and idle screws first. Then adjust the high speed screw.

Do you have any idea how old the truck or engine is?

Before you attempt to tune it replace the glowplug.

First adjust the low-speed needle so that it is about plush with its casing.

Once thats done adjust the idle screw so that once the brakes are surpressed you can see a 1.5mm gap in the carbies slider.

Now tighten the High-speed needle in fully and back it out 2.5 turns.

See how that works for you.
