Savage 25 break in.
Just bought a Savage 25. I'm presently breaking the engine in. I'm going by the manuals guide lines & have started the engine & have to run it through 2 full tanks at idle before I open it up. It's taking forever to get through one tank of fuel. Is this natural? I presume as it is running idle quite nicely then this it is natural to take so long.

well, you may be running lean, and pushing the new engine by having a lean setting wont help it much, so, to use up more fuel, and to help out the engine during this critical point of break in, make it richer. if you already did that, then you may have previously driven something with a tiny tank, therfor making you think that. just keep going in breakin it in, be careful, and dont crash into a mailbox at full throttle (like i did with my t-maxx)
happy racing/ climbing!!!

Lol....ok, I will look out for the mail box's.
Yep, I think your right, the tank is much bigger than my little 1/10th affair. It was much like watching a kettle boil, once I left it alone though the fuel soon ran out.
Thanks.
