T-MAXX TEMPERATURE...

i know i've asked this question before but, what is a good temperature for a t-maxx??? i herd 210-260 is a good temp. what are your opinions???

I find my tmaxx like all others like to run HOT! If you can keep it below 270 I think you are doing well. I have some overheating issues with mine that I constantly am dealing with. Bought a larger aluminum head and it seems to be helping!

A lot of people on here are going to say that anything lower than 230 degrees would be good, but these TRX 2.5 engines do run hot! As kcsoa22 stated, anything below 270 degrees is fine. You'll find out that newer engines tends to run hotter than the worn-in engines, because the piston and sleeve fit is still tight. Also an aftermarket cooling head should drop at least 10-20 degrees too. My Revo's 2.5R refuses to run lower than 240 degrees, and it seems to be alright.

Temp.

I could not get my 2.5 to run under 280 degree's. Mine would always OVERHEAT. Which sucked when you were in the middle of a race, because you could not get it restarted until it was cooled done. I kept trying to richin' it up, but you lose that power. Sorry couldn't help.

Hi, All!! New here, to the Monster truck off-road scene. Just purchased a HotBodies Cooling Head for the TRX 2.5R engine. Has anyone here had luck with this head, as far as keeping the temps low on their engine? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
